It was a tough struggle as winter seemed to come early in the game between Wandin and Olinda.

Wandin’s good start proved to be the difference over the day as weather became a key factor in the contest after halftime.

The Dogs gout out to a 4 goal lead by quarter time, kicking 5.6 in the first term to the Bloods 1.2.

Wandin’s lead was pegged back by a goal in the second quarter, and the margin remained within a few goals of this range for the rest of the day, with the Dogs emerging as 27 point winners.

Wandin’s best were Drew Benson, Tom Merlino, Connor Smith, Patty Bruzzese, Samuel Hodgett and Cody Hirst.

Merlino and Aaron Mullett each kicked three, with Bruzzese, Smith, Daniel Hirst, Clinton Johnson and John Ladner all single goalkickers.

The final score read 7.9, 51 to 11.12, 78.
