Yarra Valley Railway will not be running trains this Sunday the 27 August.

The railway’s 74 year old Walker rail motor 22RM needs a little extra TLC.

Last weekend, their driver noticed a coolant leak during the checks performed before every running day.

On further investigation we found that the original 1947 casting for the thermostats, which help regulate the temperature in the Gardner 6L3 engine, was heavily corroded.

The railway team is working to repair the engine and get the Walker running well again soon.

‘Walker’ will be calling in sick this Sunday and trains will not be running.

The Yara Valley Railway hope to be back soon.
