1. Millions displaced

At the end of 2020, there were 82.4 million people displaced as a result of violence, conflict, human rights violations and persecution. Currently, there are 108.4 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

2. Australia’s support

There are 60,000 refugees and 80,000 asylum seekers in Australia. Australia houses up to 140,000 displaced people, including families, children and the elderly. Since 1945, Australia has resettled up to 800,000 refugees and displaced persons.

3. Global leaders

Countries with leading acceptance rates for refugees include Türkiye (3.6 million), while Islamic Republic of Iran hosts 3.4 million, Colombia hosts 2.1 million and Germany currently hosts 2.1 million displaced people and refugees.
