A number of improvements to Wesburn Park are set to get underway shortly as part of the Wesburn Park Master Plan.

The works include:

• A new access road off Old Warburton Road to help improve access and safety

• Upgrades to the existing car parks and access roads

• Additional fencing near the equestrian and dog off-lead areas to improve safety for all users

• An upgrade to the existing toilet block

• A new bike wash bay to support future pump track and mountain bike developments

Access to the park will still be available throughout the construction, however there may be some disruptions.

Late last year after the Master Plan was officially adopted, Yarra Ranges Mayor and O’Shannassy Ward Councillor, Jim Child, said that the much-loved Wesburn Park had been in need of a future plan for some time.

“We know that Wesburn Park is a highly-valued space by our local community, given it caters for a range of sport, physical and recreational activity,” Cr Child said.

“What it’s been missing from a strategic point of view is a future plan to maximise its potential for both community and visitor use, so I’m really looking forward to seeing it being rolled out over the coming years.”
