Medieval movie in the forest

Warburton’s Redwood Forest will soon become a scene of sword wielding knights as a short film project is filmed on the location in October.

A Tale of Two Knights follows the coming of age story of a cowardly, young nobleman who learns of bravery from a crippled and broken-hearted knight.

The film’s director Kurtis Lowden said he believes the setting of Warburton’s Redwood Forest is the perfect location for the film project.

“The Redwood forest is super unique and just stunning… The colours and tones are really rich,” he said.

“This is a project I’ve wanted to do for a really long time. I’m a big fan of the time period.”

Mr Lowden said he has invested heavily in the film’s costumes, which includes a full set of knight’s armour and weaponry that has been shipped from the U.K.

“I’m a big stickler for authenticity, so getting the costumes right was important to me.

“It’s going to stand out in terms of being accurate and looking really nice.”

Mr Lowden hopes A Tale of Two Knights will reignite a stronger interest in the genre.

“I want to bring the focus back on to the story and actually have a film that people can connect with rather than just cool effects and outfits.”

Mr Lowden said that the film crew is made up of ten people, including five actors who will be staying in Warburton throughout the duration of their filming.

The team have set up a campaign for people to help support some of the costs associated with the project.
