Yarra Junction skipper Carly Millar lost the toss and was sent onto a very wet Warrandyte high school oval to bowl first.

Two great bits of fielding from Lisa Hilton and Anelise McCracken reduced Warrandyte to 2/1. The bowling unit of Bec Brown, Alannah Bomford, Millie Kuth and Tara Wilson then all struck in quick succession to leave Warrandyte 6/22 at the halfway mark.

The bowling group stuck to their tasks ably supported by some great fielding to bowl Warrandyte out for 40 with Rachel Pilton wrapping the innings up with a double wicket maiden. Bec Brown was the stand-out bowler bagging 2fa in a great spell of opening bowling. Special mention goes to Maddy Bennett who bowled her first-ever over in competitive cricket.

Millie Kuth and Lisa Hilton opened up looking to get the game over as quick as possible with both finding the boundary with ease. Kuth was run out for 11 and Tara Wilson soon followed, run out for 3. Hilton batted through for 16* and Bomford 1* as we passed the target 2 wickets down in the 9th over.
