Our netball teams were the only ones playing at home this weekend, with all four sides playing.

It was an early morning for our D grade side – playing at 8.30am against local rivals Powelltown. The girls put in a great four-quarter effort and never gave up. A couple of fill-in players were needed this week due to player unavailability, but they fitted into the team really well. The final score was 44-19 Powelltown’s way. Jessica Mebbrey was best on the court for the Eagles.

C grade was next up against Yea and they start off the game really well. It was a draw at quarter time and we were down by 2 goals at the main break. A brilliant third quarter from our goalers saw us take a 4 goal lead at three-quarter time. Yea came out in the 4th quarter firing and managed to claw their way back into the game, the final result being a draw 28 goals each. Renee Beaumont and Caitlin Conway shot 14 goals each and Tracey O’Neill was best on for the day

B grade had a tough game against Yea, starting slow and unable to catch up for the day. Going down by 21 goals in the end. Tegan Eagle was best on, shooting 18 goals for the team in a great display.

A grade started their game strong taking a 12-goal lead at quarter time and adding to that lead in each quarter. It was a great game from the entire team, putting together 4 strong defensive quarters. Jess Ellwood shot 35 of the team’s goals with Cara Moore best on court.

Next week all our teams are playing at home Netball and Men’s football takes on Kinglake while our Women’s football takes on Olinda Ferny Creek.
