Yarra Valley Soccer Club is looking for the next Harry Kewell, Tim Cahill or Samantha Kerr to join the team for the upcoming season.
Local residents are invited to a registration event at the Millgrove Recreation Reserve on Wednesday 16 February to discover what options are available for keen new players.
The day will also be a historical, marking the first event that will be held at the club’s new clubrooms while it’s still in construction phase.
The Yarra Valley Soccer Club has been hosting the beautiful game since 2003, from its humble beginnings in Launching Place to its brand-new clubrooms in Millgrove, scheduled for completion just before the start of the 2022 season.
Thousands of local kids, teens and adults have played soccer with Yarra Valley over the last two decades and the Club is expanding. A grant from Yarra Ranges Council combined with community fundraising saw the demolition of the old clubroom last year to be replaced with a purpose-built state of the art hub complete with pitch lighting.
The benefits of participating in team sports are well-known; from developing strong social skills and bonds, increasing health, fitness and academic potential to building personal resilience. All the while having extraordinary fun playing this internationally loved game.
The immense popularity that soccer has across the globe, due to its universally positive experience and its ability to bring people of world culture together, is right at our doorstep in the Yarra Valley.
Known as welcoming and affordable, the Yarra Valley Soccer Club’s mission is to introduce as many new kids, families and seniors as possible to the beautiful game this year.
Player registrations are now open for our Under 8s through to Senior teams.
At the registration event, there will be a sausage sizzle, plenty of soccer balls to have a kick around on the pitch, and who knows, we may even uncover our next Harry, Tim or Sam.
