The Warburton Bowls Club’s pennant season commenced on 1 October with the mid-week team playing Mooroolbark 2 at home in fine conditions.
Warburton 1 defeated Mooroolbark 2, 90 to 38.
Rink scores were as follows: G. Walsh 18/22; S. Lord 42/5 and G. Broussard 30/11.
The side plays Lilydale 1 away this week.
Saturday Pennant commenced with Warburton 1 playing Yarra Glen 1 away.
Yarra Glen was too strong overall winning 92 to 63.
Rink scores were as follows: B. Woods 18/12; S. Lee- Tet 16/ 26; J. Brookes 12/ 29 and J. Van Der Zweep 17/ 25.
The side will face Ferntree Gully 1 this week at home.
In a thrilling finish, Warburton 2 came from behind to draw against Healesville 2, 79-79.
It all came down to the last end, needing two shots to win, but the side could only get one shot.
Rink scores were as follows: B. Hall 21/ 25; P. McConachy 25/ 10; P. Summers 20/ 21 and N. Whelan 13/ 23.
The side plays Eastwood Golf 1 at home this week.
Warburton 3 (6 a side) played Chirnside Park 4 at home and lost 35 to 48.
Rink scores were as follows: N. Donohue 23/ 13 and M. Van Meurs 12/ 35.
The side will take on Monbulk 3 away this week.
