According to the Country Fire Authority, Victoria is heading into what is expected to be a challenging fire season.
Encouraging residents and property owners to understand their local fire risk and take steps to prepare for the season, the CFA brigades will be hosting ‘Get Fire Ready’ events across the month of October.
There are specific events tailored to individual areas across the Yarra Ranges.
The events will offer practical advice and resources to help residents get ready for the fire season.
At the events, residents and property owners will learn how to prepare homes and properties, develop greater understanding of Fire Danger Ratings and where to find emergency information, learn how to create a Bushfire Survival Plan and connect with local CFA brigades.
