When we, hard working residents of the Yarra Ranges, pay our rates to the council, we sometimes might think: ‘Where exactly does my money go?’
The majority of the works the council completes are minor works, so it’s easy to overlook them, whereas the bigger, more expensive projects get a lot of attention.
In August, a number of minor works were completed by the Yarra Ranges Council – here’s a quick rundown for the Upper Yarra:
In Seville, the War Memorial bus shelter has had a makeover and 1A Lanning Crescent had new driveway culverts installed.
Moving on to Wandin North, maintenance works were performed on its water sensitive urban design.
In Woori Yallock, the footpath from Middleton Drive to Warburton Rail Trail Woori Yallock was scrapped and cleaned.
Concrete and seat installment took place at Upper Blackwood Avenue, Warburton.
Unsealed sections of McMahons Creek Road in Three Bridges had some embankment erosion repairs take place.
And some cross culvert upgrades took place at Peppermint Lane Big Pats Creek.
