Seville police chase ends in arrest

A man in Seville has allegedly evaded police, stolen a car and then driven through paddocks before being arrested earlier today, 16 September.

A police spokesperson said the 30-year-old Corinella man was allegedly found slumped in his vehicle which prompted police to conduct a welfare check.

“The man drove off on police arrival and the vehicle was tracked to a nearby property.

“It’s alleged he then stole a car from that property and drove off through paddocks off Linwood Road until stop sticks were used and the man was arrested,” the spokesperson said.

Police are currently interviewing the man in relation to the incident and a number of other alleged thefts in the area.

“No one was injured during the incident,” the spokesperson said.

Wandin, Seville and Yellingbo CFAs were paged to a possible person trapped after a crash on the corner of Beenak and Macclesfield Road at around 10.40am today in relation to the incident.
