Fun competition helping biodiversity researchers

The Yarra Ranges Council is calling upon locals to take part in its Biodiversity Blitz 2025 to help scientists and celebrate wildlife.

For the month of September, people are encouraged to download the iNaturalist app (or sign up online) where they can snap photos of local plants and animals.

To partake, first sign up at the iNaturalist website: inaturalist.ala.org.au/home.

Then join the Yarra Ranges biodiversity blitz here: inaturalist.ala.org.au/projects/biodiversity-blitz-2025-yarra-ranges.

September is biodiversity month and other Melbourne based councils are taking part in the competition.

Every photo shared helps scientists and researchers while celebrating the incredible biodiversity in the Yarra Ranges community.
