New planning application for reverse vending machine in Yarra Junction

A planning application has been lodged with the Yarra Ranges Council for a new reverse vending machine site in Yarra Junction.

Located at 2467 Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction, the automated collection point site will be part of the Victorian Government’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), where users can deposit recyclable containers and earn a 10c refund for every container they deposit.

The automated collection point will have two user points which will allow for two people to use the reverse vending machine at once.

The recyclable containers will be stored in eight 660 litre bins which will be emptied once a day.

The site will be open from Monday to Sunday, 7am to 8am.
