Car theft warning for parklands and walking tracks

A rise in vehicle break ins around parklands and walking tracks in the Yarra Ranges has prompted calls for drivers to tighten up their security measures.

Yarra Range Eyewatch Facebook Page warned locals on 29 July to take some simple measures to deter thieves.

It urged car owners to always lock their doors, even in their own driveways and to not leave valuables inside their cars.

Parkland and walking track carparks are often located in forested areas with no nearby buildings and as a result, no CCTV.
