Politicians back Warburton Bike Park opening

The Victorian and Commonwealth Governments invested over $7.5 million into the newly opened Warburton Bike Park.

On Saturday 19 July the first 30 kilometres of trails of the Warburton Bike Park was opened to the public with an additional 70 kilometres of trails to be delivered by 2027.

The project led by Yarra Ranges Shire Council and is staged into two parts, with $4.3 million from the Federal Labor Government and $3 million from the Victorian Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

The trails are accessible from the main trail head at Wesburn Park, also home to a recently developed Pump Track, and Warburton.

The project is designed for riders of all skill levels from beginner to advanced, across a range of differing terrains, outlooks and environments.

“We are proud to be backing new projects that give more Victorians the opportunity to enjoy our great outdoors while boosting local businesses,” Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said.

Input has also been provided by Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, Melbourne Water, and a grant from the Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Bank towards the first stage.

Stage one of the Warburton Bike Park is due to be completed in 2027 and will have terrain and features to suit a variety of riding styles and levels so all Victorians can enjoy.
