Baseball to impact local police

Outer east police have advised the public via social media that an upcoming baseball game will affect local police reception counters.

This weekend will see local Yarra Ranges police presence at three stations closed ahead of a large grand final baseball game on Saturday.

“As a result of police resourcing for Saturday’s A-League Grand Final, the opening hours of Boronia, Belgrave and Rowville police station reception counter will be impacted,” read the social media post.

The stations will be closed, and the nearest 24-hour station is Knox.

Police advised service delivery to the affected areas was still a priority.

“Whenever police are planning for a large response to an event or an emergency incident, service delivery to the community is always factored into the planning,” read the post.

“There will still be around the clock patrols to prevent, detect, and respond to crime. This includes Operation Trinity, which targets home burglaries and car thefts.”

Police advised community that if there is an emergency to call Triple Zero for urgent assistance.

Stations will resume normal opening hours on Sunday 1 June 2025.
