Baseus power bank recalled due to fire risk

The Baseus portable charger, 65W 30000mAh high capacity power bank was recalled on 23 May.

Manufacturer Baseus received 76 reports of incidents involving the portable chargers, including 72 reports of bulging and four reports of fire, including three reports of property damage.

There’s a risk of serious burn injuries and property damage if the lithium-ion battery in the power bank overheats and catches fire.

Consumers should cease use immediately and dispose the power bank in accordance with local requirements for disposing of lithium batteries.

Consumers are then advised to contact Baseus to arrange a full refund, making sure to provide contact information and a photo of the affected power bank showing the model and serial number that are printed on the bottom of the device.

To contact Baseus, call: 1800 954 260 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday
