Two models of the popular Fitbit smartwatches have been recalled due to an overheating battery.
The two models and their respective model numbers are Fitbit Sense: FB512 and Fitbit Versa 3: FB511.
These items were sold: 1 August 2020 to 30 September 2023.
An overheating battery could pose a risk of burns to a user.
A firmware update was rolled out to affected Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa 3 devices, which Fitbit considers mitigates the risk of the battery overheating in those devices.
Consumers do not need to return their devices to receive the firmware update.
If your device is not impacted by the issue, the firmware update will have no impact on battery management and the device will perform the same as before.
