The bushfire in the Yarra Ranges National Park east of Reefton remains not yet under control as of midday Thursday 6 February.
The latest information from VicEmergency, updated just after noon, is for locals to stay informed.
The watch zone has expanded to 18 hectares deep in the Upper Yarra Catchment north of Old Woods Point Roads.
There is currently no threat to communities, but residents should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
Fire reconnaissance aircraft first identified the fire, likely caused by lightning, at 11.30am on Wednesday 6 February with over 20 Forest Fire Management Victoria firefighters were deployed to the fire, along with three aircraft and three dozers.
The aircraft were being used to reduce the spread and intensity of the fire, and the dozers and firefighters will build mineral earth breaks to contain it.
