Yarra Centre teams up to help Holy Fools



The Yarra Centre has teamed up to support local Yarra Ranges-based homelessness support service Holy Fools this festive season.

Visitors to the Yarra Centre can now find a Holy Fools purple bin for their 2024 Christmas Hampers Drive.

You can find the donation bin next to the community harvest table/whistle stop cafe until late December.

The list of preferred items to donate is:

One litre carton of long life milk

One litre carton of long life custard

50 to 200 gram tins or jars of tea, coffee, drinking chocolate or Milo

50 gram to 1 kilogram packets of rice, pasta mixes, noodles, couscous, lentils or soups

85 to 500 gram packets of jelly, pudding or cake mixes

50 to 200 gram packets of nuts, pretzels and/or dried fruit

90 to 250 gram packets of sweet biscuits, crackers or shortbread

50 to 250 gram packets of lollies, chocolates and/or other edible stocking fillers

50 to 150 gram packets of chips of any and all types or varieties

250 gram to 450 gram boxes of breakfast cereals

100 to 250 gram muesli bars

150 to 250 gram jars of spreads including Nutella, cream cheese and Vegemite

One litre bottles of soft drink, cordial or fruit juice

200 to 250 grams of tinned ham, fish and/or corned beef

125 to 420 gram cans of vegetables including peas, carrots, potatoes, corn, beetroot and asparagus

170 to 400 grams of fruit salad such as SPC or Goulburn Valley brand

110 to 900 gram Christmas puddings, fruit mince pies or Christmas cakes

Other 50 to 500 gram non-perishable ‘luxury’ food you would buy for Christmas
