Warburton CFA kept busy by escaped burn-off and oil spill

The Warburton CFA were kept busy on Monday 11 November by two incidents in quick succession.

A CFA spokesperson said three CFA units from Warburton and Reefton responded to a vehicle incident on Woods Point Road in McMahons Creek at around 6.20pm.

“Crews discovered a large oil spill spanning 20 x 6m,” they said.

“Crews worked alongside VicRoads to clean the scene, Victoria Police were on scene, VicRoads were called to the scene.”

This incident was deemed under control at 7.05pm and safe at 8.43pm.

Less than an hour later, two Warburton CFA units responded to reports of a fire on Whitegum Drive in East Warburton at around 7.07pm.

“Crews discovered an escaped private burn-off,” the CFA spokesperson said.

“The incident was deemed under control at 7.23pm and safe at 7.26pm.”
