Two trucks collided

The Melba Highway, Yering is closed in both directions between Healesville-Yarra Glen Road and Macintyre Road following a serious collision.

Two trucks collided at around 8.21am on Melba Highway, Yering on Thursday 19 September.

Coldstream CFA attended the scene alongside Victoria Police.

“Crews arrived to find a jack-knifed B-Double which was leaking diesel, and a representative from the EPA was contacted,” a CFA spokesperson said

“The incident was deemed under control at 8.44am and safe at 9.39am.”

None of the drivers were injured.

Motorists should use the Maroondah Highway through Coldstream and Healesville to detour around the closure.

This detour will add around 30 kilometres and up to an hour extra travel time.

The closure is under the control of Victoria Police and the Melba Highway will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
