Quell Firestop recalled for failing to meet mandatory standards



KIDDE Australia’s Quell Firestop product which has been available for sale at multiple large traders has been recalled.

Quell Fire Stop is a spray can with trigger mechanism, containing a fire suppressant for use against Class A, B, E, and F fire categories.

The product was available nationally between 7 December 2021 and 29 May 2024 from the following traders:

Affected products have a barcode number of 9315546392566.

The labelling on the product does not comply with the mandatory standard for portable aerosol fire extinguishers. The product may be mistaken for a fire extinguisher when it is a fire suppressant.

There is a risk of serious burns and property damage if consumers attempt to use the product beyond its capabilities as a fire extinguisher.

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
