Textile recycling drop off in Wandin East



Yarra Ranges Council is offering a free textiles waste collection drop-off day for residents at the Wandin East Recreation Reserve on Saturday 18 May.

These events are to provide residents with the opportunity to dispose of items that are not a good fit for reuse and would otherwise go to landfill.

Accepted clothing and textile items:

Towels

Sheets, doona covers and pillowcases (no doonas, quilts, pillows)

Curtains, tablecloths, cushion covers etc (no rubber-backed curtains or lining, no cushion inserts)

Clothing (See below for exclusions)

Shoes

Blankets

Fabric offcuts and scraps

Belts

Not acceptable items:

Underwear, hosiery and bras

Swimwear

Carpet

Soft toys

Hard hats

Glasses

Unwashed or mouldy items (stained clothing is acceptable)

Items accepted need to be clean and dry.

Items need to be bagged or in boxes, be able to be lifted without assistance.

Please note vehicle access only due to safety reasons – no walk-ups.

Bookings are one per household. Please make seperate bookings if you are booking for multiple households.
