Opportunities are still available for locals to get involved and support the delivery of the Yarra Ranges and Lake Mountain Downhill Festivals Festival in March, back for its fourth successive year.

Provided will be free accommodation corresponding with your shift one night before you arrive and one night before your departure and a free lunch.

Anyone is welcome to apply as long as they are 18+ and event organisers highly recommend getting involved if you are local to the shire, especially the Warburton/Wesburn region or are aged 18 to 25 as this is a great opportunity to meet a new community or even your next sporting obsession.

Organisers are also planning a pump track event which will provide volunteers an opportunity to bring a skateboard and hang out with everyone each night and potentially compete in a side competition.

Riders from around the state, country and even the world will descend Mt Donna Buang from March 15 to 17, with skateboarders, luge and inline skaters to take it on.

Racers can expect to reach speeds of up to 90km/h coming down from the summit of Mt Donna Buang, while free riders can take it slower should they like.

Full hay bale track protection will once again be in place, with the aim to have plenty of court marshals ready to assist riders.
