Upper Yarra residents who rely on the train are to be advised that trains have been suspended between Ringwood and Mooroolbark after a person was hit earlier today.
Metro Trains confirmed the incident around 1.30pm on Monday 22 January.
Due to the emergency request, buses will be replacing trains for some time.
“It is not known at this stage when normal services will resume,” PTV said in a statement.
Passengers are advised to allow an extra 30 minutes in their travelling time.
“We encourage passengers travelling on this line today to plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey, and consider alternative travel plans, such as altering your departure time, or using a different mode of public transport,” PTV said.
“We sincerely apologise for the disruption and thank passengers for their patience.”
