Biodiversity Blitz reaches halfway point

The Yarra Ranges Council took to social media on Friday 15 September with a midway count for their September Biodiversity Blitz.

So far, 151 participants have submitted more than 3000 flora, fauna and fungi observations from across the Yarra Ranges.

750 species have been catalogued so far and included 425 plants, 72 fungi, 76 birds, 32 arachnids, 95 insects, 9 mammals and 7 reptiles.

The Council said that there is still plenty of time for people to join the project.
