Man dies in Woori Yallock collision with school bus

A man has died in Woori Yallock after a fatal collision with a school bus, leaving students shaken but uninjured.

Police, CFA and Ambulance Victoria were called to the crash at Warburton Highway and Lusatia Park Road intersection around 3.35pm when a van collided with the bus.

“The driver and sole occupant of the van, who has yet to be identified, died at the scene. No one else was seriously injured,” police said.

“A man was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital,” Ambulance Victoria confirmed, with the Air Ambulance seen nearby.

Four students from Upper Yarra were on the bus on their commute home, 7News reported.

The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined.

Hillcrest CFA asked local residents to be patient when making their way home.

“Both lanes of Warburton Highway will remain closed for several hours with traffic diversions in place,” the brigade said.
