Seville crash in January claims second life

A second person has died following a tragic three-way collison in Seville last month.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 48-year-old Mooroolbark man, passed away on 12 February in hospital after being airlifted with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of a second vehicle, a 22-year-old Hawthorn woman died at the scene.

It is believed three cars collided at the intersection of Queens Road and Beenak Road just before 8am on 17 January.

A man and woman traveling in the third vehicle, a Hilux towing an empty horse float, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a child was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
