VicRoads is undertaking urgent vegetation removal works on Monbulk-Seville Rd in Wandin East.

These works will be underway until Sunday 18 December with Holden Rd and Charteris Rd closed at the Monbulk-Seville Rd intersection. Please look out for any temporary signage and crews during these works.

VicRoads found 18 trees within the road reserve that have become unstable due to the ongoing landslip. To safely remove the trees, an arborist will be working gradually to secure the unstable trees to a helicopter winch before each segment is removed aerially.

The removed segments of tree will be safely detached at ground level at the nearby intersection of Holden Road, Charteris Road and Monbulk-Seville Road.

The helicopter will be refuelling at nearby Wandin East recreation reserve. An exclusion zone will be in place with the reserve closed to the public.

There will be periods of high noise levels, wind and some dust when the helicopter is working above the canopy and refuelling.
