Reconstruction works for the Cement Creek Road Bridge leading into the Redwoods Forest in Warburton have been delayed due to the landslip on Warburton Highway.

Heavy machinery is required to upgrade the bridge, but this is only possible once Warburton Highway has been repaired.

VicRoads manages Warburton Highway and is set to commence its repair work in February.

Once Warburton Highway is fully open, the necessary upgrades to Cement Creek Road Bridge will be completed over an eight-week period. Then once the bridge reconstruction is complete, Parks Victoria will be able to commence its facility upgrades inside the park.

Vehicle access to the Redwood Forest remains closed until the Cement Creek Road Bridge construction works are complete however you can still access the forest on foot or by bike via the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail.
