Three… ways to show respect on Remembrance Day

Three things to do on Remembrance Day. Picture: ON FILE

Observe the minute’s silence

A minute of silence takes place at 11am every Remembrance Day to honour those who were injured or died fighting for Australia.

Wear a poppy

The poppy flower is an emblem to honour the dead and help the living. The poppy is the enduring symbol of remembrance of World War One.

Attend a service

Local memorial services are held every year by the Returned and Services League. If you can’t make it to a memorial service, you can visit a cenotaph which is an empty tomb or a monument erected in honour of a person or group of people whose remains are elsewhere.
