1. Fedora
In the early 1900s, the hat was fashionable for women, and the women’s rights movement adopted it as a symbol. After Edward, Prince of Wales (later the Duke of Windsor) started to wear them in 1924, it became popular among men for its stylishness and its ability to protect the wearer’s head from the wind and weather.
2. Pork pie
This style of men’s hat began to appear in British fashion at the turn of the century. It features a flat crown that resembles a traditional pork pie.
3. Fascinator
Women have been wearing decorative headpieces since the Renaissance era, but it wasn’t until the 1990s that the term fascinator was applied to ornamental head wear. In 2014, Kate Peck wore a $3 million fascinator to Derby Day.
