Three… artists who wrote songs called ‘October’

The months keep passing as October arrives. Picture: ON FILE

1. U2

October is the seventh and title track from U2’s 1981 album, October. The song was inspired by the spiritual turmoil the band was experiencing during the time it was written. Standout lyrics include “October, and the trees are stripped bare, of all they wear, what do I care?“

2. Alessia Cara

From the Canadian singer’s 2019 EP The Summer, this song is a melancholy number about something special coming to an end – like summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Standout lyrics include: “Bubble we’re living in, setting me free again, I don’t know what it is about this, I’m gonna miss it when it’s over, I hope we never see October.”

3. Molly Millington

A sweet tale of romantic misadventure and young love, this song is an indie pop banger from the young Australian. Standout lyrics include: “I go back to his gravestone every year, reminisce when I had you here, do you remember? Do you remember October? Like I do?”
