Yarra Junction resident Susan Hotton has received a special recognition award for her service as a volunteer librarian at Yarra Junction Primary School.
Member for Casey Tony Smith has announced Ms Hotton’s accolade as part of the Casey Volunteer and Community Awards for 2021.
Consulting the students for their favourite books, authors and genres, Ms Hotton has curated an inviting library for all students.
She also manages the library systems and plans and facilitates weekly library sessions for Prep to Grade 6.
During the grueling period of remote learning throughout 2020/21, Ms Hotton went above and beyond to host weekly live library sessions to keep students connected and engaged with their reading.
