Hoddles Creek CFA Captain receives special recognition award

Member for Casey Tony Smith has announced his Casey Volunteer and Community Awards recipients for 2021.

Hoddles Creek resident Leonie Turner has received a special recognition award for her service to the brigade, having been a long-term volunteer and captain for a number of years.

Leonie is renowned for creating the Hoddles Creek emergency catering crew which provides food and refreshments to CFA, Victoria Police, SES, and other first responders when they are on the scene of emergencies.

She also leads the CFA junior member program for the Yarra Valley area, based out of Hoddles Creek CFA, with 30 juniors all aged 11 to 16 years old, giving young people in the local area an opportunity to be involved with emergency services.
