Australia Day Awards to be held online

Upper Yarra residents are invited to tune into the Yarra Ranges council 2022 Australia Day Awards online.

Council made the decision to host the event online to remain Covid-safe for the protection of staff and community members.

Last year, Upper Yarra residents Ashlee Schlotter and Josh Martin were awarded the Young Citizen of the Year award and Ian De La Rue Award for Community Leadership respectively.

This year’s award recipients will be invited to meet with Mayor Jim Child to receive their awards and citation.

Locals interested in the ceremony can watch the award handover on Yarra Ranges Life TV, who will be co-hosting with the council.

The stream will be live on Facebook on 1.30pm Wednesday 26 January. Find out more and tune in to the stream at https://www.facebook.com/events/1000442697212662
