Water bomb warning

The CFA is advising members of the community to expect aerial activity in the Lilydale area on Sunday 1 December as part of a training exercise.

The CFA will take to the skies for an Aviation Day in Lilydale, which will showcase a number of CFA aircraft-related procedures.

During the event water bombing aircraft will be loaded and set up before it takes off to perform a real water drop, as well as an assessment of Air Observers and Air Attack Supervisors.

Aircraft will be loaded at around 9.30am before aircraft operations take place at a Lilydale property at around 12pm, giving onlookers an insight into all aspects of CFA aviation.

Members of the community should be aware the planned aircraft activity will only be a drill and not related to a real fire incident.
