Buxton farm hand dead



A 59-year-old farm hand died while helping to fell trees on a property in Buxton.

The worker was found unresponsive near a tree that had been pushed over by a tractor about 11am on Wednesday 10 July.

The worker was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with head injuries but died soon after.

WorkSafe is investigating the incident.

The fatality brings the number of workplace deaths this year to 14, two more than at the same time last year.
