Yarra Junction Primary School students and staff were surprised at the recent donation of a new 3D printer and a dishwasher to be installed in their school kitchen.
One staff member, Michelle Cottam-Starkey had contacted home appliance company Bosch for support with the school’s cooking program and food preparation resources.
The donation came on the condition that Yarra Junction’s grade six students visit Bosch to engage in a session on current innovative technologies with engineering students.
Students visited the automotive department and experimented with augmented reality, were taught about driverless car technology and tried on virtual reality headsets.
The grade six students received a lesson in coding and robotics by Bosch’s student engineering team and learned about engineering career opportunities.
