Warburton CFA’s Linus Wilson is creating a documentary about the town and is looking to interview Warburton locals to hear their story.
Mr Wilson wants his project to be about fire safety as well as a historical documentary.
“I want it to be a community engagement documentary. The CFA are really strong on engaging with the public and spreading bushfire awareness, but I wanted to do it in a more eloquent way.
“We’ve come to realise how beautiful this town is and that there’s a lot more to it. There are some amazing stories from people,” he said.
“I’ll be conducting interviews with locals. It will be a cinemagraphic experience and a real gentle documentary that captures the real Warburton.
Mr Wilson wants the documentary to be about the people who live here and their relationship to the landscape.
“I want it to be an Australian story. There are so many people living in growing regional areas that are surrounded by bush land and that comes with various risks.
“In the Warburton Fire Brigade we have some new and older members and the stories are just incredible.”
Mr Linus has started working on the documentary at the end of the fire danger period in May and he wants to document all four seasons and release it when the fire danger period ends in 2020.
“It will capture autumn and that down time, it won’t just be about bushfires it will be about the cold of winter here and what the CFA does in Warburton.
“I hope you will get to see the background of what happens, the planning throughout the year behind the scenes that isn’t just about being on a fire truck,” Mr Wilson said.
Mr Wilson is looking for people who have lived in Warburton that would like to be interviewed.
