NOW into the second half of the season, the Under 9s, 10s, 12s, 14s and 16s travelled to Upwey to take on Upwey-Tecoma and Wandin, while the Under 11s to Monbulk and Under 12 Girls to Mount Evelyn.
On a beautiful winter day, the Under 10s played probably their best footy of the year.
The backline was solid and disciplined, and gave the team plenty of rebound.
The midfield dominated the clearances, and the boys kept the forward-line open enough to generate 13 scoring shots and six goals.
The Under 11s went into to the game quite unmanned, and as a result struggled for most of the game.
As always, the boys played hard to the end and did all that was asked of them.
The one-sided scoreline didn’t show the improvement the Under 12s Girls showed this weekend.
Everyone got involved in the game and tried to lay tackles and all players had possessions this week.
It was the best game of the year by the girls and really showed how much progress they have made this year.
Great day for footy at Upwey and the Under 12s put together a solid victory.
The team took a while to adjust to the small confines of the Upwey-Tecoma ground, but after some scrappy starts to quarters, worked their running game well and created plenty of scoring shots.
