Graffiti gone

UNSIGHTLY graffiti is set to be wiped out in the Yarra Ranges with the help of a $23,000 Victorian Government grant.
Gembrook MP Brad Battin said the Yarra Ranges Council had received funding for two separate graffiti initiatives.
“Yarra Ranges Shire Council has received $16,058 for its project Graffiti Removal 101, and $7,400 for its Volunteers Working Together to Remove Graffiti program,” he said.
“The Coalition has a zero-tolerance approach to graffiti which is why it is committed to assisting the local community with its removal.”
Evelyn MP Christine Fyffe said graffiti was unsightly and not welcome in the Yarra Ranges.
“The Yarra Ranges are a picturesque place to live and visit,” she said.
“We do not want the landscape to be spoiled by illegal graffiti.”
The grants are part of the Victorian Coalition Government’s broader $35 million Community Crime Prevention Program, which provides support and funding for local communities to identify and prioritise local crime issues to help deliver a safer, more secure Victoria.
