Youth will have the chance to illuminate nocturnal animals after dark at the free Nocturnal Spotlighting event as part of the Birarrung Riverfest 2025.
The event takes place at the Yarra Bridge Streamside Reserve, Woori Yallock on the 17 September from 6.30pm to 9pm.
Aimed at youth aged 18-30 years old, the event is a chance to experience how naturalists use spotlighting safely and ethically when observing animals in the dark and understand more about the health of forests that call the Birrarung home.
Hosted by Rachel Lauder of Urban Guerilla’s, details for the event will be sent closer to the date.
Those interested can sign up for the event (which only has 15 slots available) at the link: events.humanitix.com/nocturnal-spotlighting-healesville-youth-event
As this is a night event walking in uneven terrain, it is not wheelchair friendly.
