Cire’s Community Hub in Yarra Junction returns

Cire’s Yarra Junction Community Hub list of available services has been confirmed after it relocated from its Warburton Highway location.

The relocation was announced on mayor Cr Jim Child’s Facebook account on 24 August where a statement from Cire said it moved to “ensure the safety and well being” of its staff – though Yarra Junction Police weren’t aware of any incidents posing a threat to safety having taken place at the hub in recent times.

Programs at the new hub, located at the Cire Early Years Learning Hub at 39-43 Little Yarra Road, remain largely the same from its previous location and will resume on Monday 15 September – however, it will not longer offer Food Relief Services, or a Services Australia Access Point.

The programs available from 15 September include Mature Movers, Crafters, School Can’t, Wellbeing Walkers, Coffee Cake and Fake Bingo, Carers Vic and a Stroke Foundation Support Group.

A new Community Lunches program will commence in October.

Cire referred users who need a Services Australia Access Point to the Yarra Junction EACH Centre, where every fortnight people can access Services Australia.

Meanwhile, those looking for food relief services were encouraged to reach out to Linc Yarra Valley.
