The gate at the summit of Mount Donna Buang was broken open on Friday 27 June.
The Mountain Tucker Facebook page announced the news and said the incident occurred overnight.
“Unfortunately someone broke open the gate at the summit last night, this gate is closed as its only a loop to the top,” the post read.
Park Victoria keep the gate closed when it snows on the mountain in an attempt to keep the snowy conditions as enjoyable as possible.
Mount Donna Buang has seen a decent amount of snowfall recently which has attracted many visitors to the popular location.
