A brazen early morning break-in at a Monbulk bike store has left behind a trail of damage and stolen goods.
The Cog Bike Store along Main Street was the target of an alleged theft on Monday 12 May, that has left the store damaged and several valuable bikes stolen.
In a blow to the team and community at the store, the staff shared on social media that the early morning break-in allegedly occurred around 4.23am.
“A number of bikes were stolen, and there’s significant damage,” read the post.
“There’s so much more we could say, as the anger and stress builds — but we’ll hold that back.”
“In true COG form, and with the passion we have for what we do, we’ll get over this hurdle and keep moving forward.”
Security footage has captured the images of the alleged thieves, with images showing a car with a trailer attached pulling up to the storefront and three figures with long-sleeved clothing and their lower faces concealed taking a number of bikes from the property.
The store has asked the community to contact police if they recognise them, saw anything suspicious, or have any information that might help.
