1. Jessica Fox’s slalom double-act

Originally born in France, Australian canoe slalom veteran Jessica Fox cemented her legacy as one of the greatest paddlers of all time with a stunning golden double. The 30-year-old from New South Wales defended her Olympic title in the C1 event before going on to claim her first-ever gold medal in the K1 category, solidifying her position as the undisputed queen of the sport.

2. Ariarne Titmus’ 200-metre freestyle domination

Hailing from Tasmania, 23-year-old swimming sensation Ariarne Titmus added another Olympic gold to her collection with a dominant display in the 200-metre freestyle final. The 22-year-old powered home cementing her status as one of the world’s best middle-distance freestyle swimmers and underlining Australia’s strength in the pool.

3. Grace Brown securing Australia’s first gold medal

It was a momentous day for Australia as cyclist Grace Brown stormed to victory in the women’s time trial road cycling event, becoming the first Australian athlete to secure a gold medal at Paris. The 30-year-old hailing from Camperdown in Victoria’s South West produced a stunning ride to edge out her rivals.
