Carrier Fire & Security Danmark A/S has had its Cavius Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm 4002 recalled due to a delay in the alarm being triggered.
The product is a battery-powered, residential carbon monoxide alarm that can be installed in residential homes, camper vans, caravans, and camping cars.
The product has a delayed response time for triggering the alarm. It does not meet the EN 50291-1:2018 standard for the response time of carbon monoxide alarms.
There is a risk of serious illness, injury or death if triggering of the alarm is delayed.
Depending on the level of exposure, consumers may experience symptoms including headaches and nausea.
There is an increased risk of serious illness, injury or death the longer consumers are exposed to carbon monoxide.
Consumers should stop using the product immediately and return the product to Cavius Australia Pty Ltd or any retailer that sold the product.
Consumers will be offered a replacement alarm (Quell Q10LLCO) or a full refund.
The product was available for safe nationally, internationally and online at Metal Manufacturers Pty Ltd, BCF, JD Lighting Parkinson Warehouse and Riviera Australia between 21 November 2019 and 4 March 2024.
